+ National Museum, House of Culture
Dar Es Salaam national museum originally established as King George V memorial center, preserves the history, culture, as well as displaying natural environment of the country.
If you are interested to know about the culture of Tanzania this is a place you can start while in Dar.
There are exciting exhibitions to view as well including, fossils uncovered by Dr Leakey that explain about the human evolution, to a bicycle that was made totally out of woods, from frame to tires.

+ Bongoyo Island
Bongoyo island is an uninhabited island found about 2 miles north of Dar Es Salaam, and probably the most visited island of the four Dar Es Salaam marine reserve islands, others being Mbudya, Pangavini and Fungu Yasin
Bongoyo island has two beaches for you to enjoy, sharks lagoon, coral life and more.
To have more fun on this island you can as well book for a fishing trip and short cruises.

+ Village Museum
The village museum is a place where you can get ideas about the traditions and customs of Tanzania. The local refer to it as"Kijiji cha makumbusho" a swahili mirror image for historical village.
As the name suggests,the village museum displays a lifestyle that has been around for a long time and long ago before the modern lifestyle took over among the locals.

+ Mbudya Island
Like Bongoyo island, Mdudya is also an uninhabited island that holds the ruins of Germany outpost and a tomb that is thought to be of the descendant of Prophet Mohamed.
Upon spiritual beliefs some visitors visit the tomb to pay homage and making sacrifices for cleansing and fortune.
Mbudya has nice sandy beaches that offer great opportunities for diving, in some areas around these beaches you can enjoy barbecued fish with chips and drinks.
The nature of the island is covered with palm trees and baobab trees, it is among these trees where the rare Coconut crab is found. you would want to see this huh?

Botanical Gardens
These gardens that were introduced by the German director of Agriculture Professor Stuhlmann during the colonial era in the 19th century were set as trial plots to taste different type of plantation and trees to determine if they could grow in this region's type of climate.
Ever since that time, these gardens have been preserved and now they display incredible plants like red hibiscus, bougainvillea and scarlet frame trees. its just colorful. You can visit the garden for some peace of mind.
