Zanzibar is an island amongst Tanzania cities. She is located 25 miles away from Tanzania mainland in the Indian ocean.
The city is made up of two major parts; the stone town which is an old town holding buildings of the 19th century built at that time when Zanzibar was among those important trading centre of the Indian ocean and Ng'ambo a Swahili name which means "on the other side" having being named after its geographical nature as this area is separated from stone town by a stream.
Zanzibar is a historical city, it is actually known to be the only functioning old city in East Africa.

As described prior, Zanzibar is holding a very old city on its grounds that is still functioning to date. In stone town there is just about a lot to admire, from Dr Livingstone's house to the Arab fort, the palace museum to the House of Wonders (Bait el-Ajaib), old mosques, cathedrals, Sultan Barghash's harem who was a ruler who had built most of stone town infrastructure during the time he ruled Zanzibar.
There are a lot curio shops in stone town where you can pick gifts for friends back home.
Walk around through winding alleyways see studded doors on the old buildings walls.

+Jozani Forest
Jozani forest is located in the center of Jozani Chwaka Bay National park the only national park in Zanzibar city. With outstanding nature trail, trained and informative tour guides you are up to enjoy a good scenery.
The forest host various animals including the rare red colobus monkey closely related to the black and white colobus monkeys that are found in Ngurdoto crater forests in Arusha.
You would like to see funny faces of sykes monkey.
Other animals wondering in these forests include the green tortoise and bush pigs, few years ago a leopard was spotted in these forests too, it has not been seen for quite a while and it is believed to be feeding at night, if it is still alive.
A tour in jozani forest can be fun, and if you like photographing, red colobus are ready to pause for you :) you can have exciting moment together.

+ Kizimkazi Village
Kizimkazi is a fishing village located in the southern coast of Zanzibar.
In the southwest 2 miles away there is an old and first mosque ever of Zanzibar built in the 10th century 1107 AD.
The mosque bears the evidence of early Islam in the eastern coast and still functioning to this day.
Just about near the village you can visit the bottled mouth dolphins spot in the Indian ocean. If you are lucky enough you will be able to swim close to the school of various dolphins. Get your Zanzibar tour better.

+ Spice Plantation
Zanzibar is as well known as 'spice land' due to the fact that it grows a lot of spices sold around the world.
You cannot separate the history of Zanzibar and spices plantation, they have been around since the 16th century when they were introduced by the Portuguese for trade.
Visit spice plantation and get the feel, smell and taste of these many spices, learn about herbs and their uses where later you can buy some that tasted good for you fresh from the source.

+ Prison Island
About 6 km North-west of stone town lies a small island that was named prison following the fact that a prison for slaves was built here back in the 1980s.
However no slaves were kept in the prison so after some time the prison was turned out to be a yellow fever case quarantine station.
The use of the building as a quarantine station had stopped after some time to become just a
regular place where people go spend some spare time.
It is no longer a prison today, it is a place where you can go calm your nerves down, after all there is only ruins left.
Inside the Prison island you will see the old gift from the British governor of the Seychelles the Aldabra giant tortoise which had
multipled to dominate the island. Inside the forest there are different types of butterflies and birds to see, you can imagine how colorful your vision is going to be :)
